Menopausal Management

Natural Menopause occurs when ovarian production of Follicles (eggs) ceases and estrogen levels decrease. It is usually defined by the absence of menstrual cycles for over 12 months.

Average Age for menopause is 51-52.


Symptoms

Symptoms may include vaginal dryness, hot flashes, sleep disturbance, depression, sexual dysfunction.

Testing

Simple blood tests easily check for menopause.

Long Term Changes

Long term chances can include osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, sexual dysfunction and painful intercourse.


Treatment

Non-Hormonal VS Hormonal

  • Non-hormonal-prescription nonhormonal medications to treat symptoms, lubricants

  • Hormonal-oral and/or vaginal hormonal therapy containing estrogen or other hormones

Surgical

Surgical CO2 laser procedures to treat vaginal symptoms (of dryness and painful intercourse) including Mona Lisa/Femilift procedures.
