Julie R. Vieta, D.O.
Born and raised in Northern Ohio, Dr. Vieta graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999. In 2005 she completed her residency in OB/GYN from Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Vieta has been in solo practice in the Columbus area since 2005 and is now pleased to have joined the Womankind Obstetrics & Gynecology team. Dr. Vieta specializes in quality and compassionate prenatal care and routine gynecologic care for a woman's entire life. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She resides in the Columbus area with her husband Mark and their six children.
Steven P. Balaloski, MD
Also a central Ohio native, Dr. Balaloski received his medical degree in 1993 from The Ohio State University and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a member of the American Urogynecologic Society. In addition, he is accredited by the council for Gynecologic Endoscopy. Dr. Balaloski has been practicing in central Ohio for more than 10 years and has pioneered office-based gynecologic surgery in central Ohio. He was the first in central Ohio to perform endometrial ablation (an alternative to hysterectomy) and Essure™ sterilization in the office. Dr. Balaloski has been a life-long resident of Columbus and continues to be dedicated to his patients as well as the community.
Stephen R. Richards, MD
A central Ohio native, in 1979, Dr. Richards received his medical degree from The Ohio State University, where he also completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency. He is board certified and is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society. In addition, he was the first gynecologic surgeon in Columbus to be accredited by the Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy in both laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. He was the first to perform laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy and laparoscopic bladder suspensions in Columbus. He has more than 20 articles published in medical journals. Practicing in central Ohio for 25 years, Dr. Richards is a pioneer in minimally invasive gynecologic treatment including those for abnormal bleeding, sterilization, urine loss and pelvic floor disorders. He is the first in Columbus to perform office-based urethral sling procedures for urine loss, and first to perform Thermachoice™ endometrial ablation in the office.
