Our physicians train other physicians in Urogynecologic procedures and Thermal Ablation as well as all of the other surgical procedures they perform. That's because they are at the forefront of medical treatments, procedures and technology in women's health care - being the first to perform several procedures, both in-office and outpatient. When other physicians want to learn about these procedures, they turn to our physicians.

Office Endometrial Ablation

Thanks to medical advancements, today the treatment of heavy periods is highly successful without a hysterectomy. In fact, our physicians were the first in central Ohio to perform this new treatment procedure: in-office ablation. We have treated over 100 women in our office with Thermachoice™ ablation. All returned to work the very next day and to full activity.

Essure Office Sterilization

WomanKind is the first and only practice in Ohio to become an Essure Accredited Practice. We have undergone extensive additional training to become certified with this designation. Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Prolapse

Drs. Richards and Balaloski are trainers for the next generations of bladder SLINGS. This procedure does not involve incisions in the abdomen or groin and can be accomplished completely vaginally. They have completed more than 200 successful procedures, curing urine loss associated with coughing, sneezing, laughing or jumping. Some patients can have this procedure in the office.

Overactive bladder is usually treated with medications. Sometimes medications have severe side effects or are ineffective. Neuromodulation is an option for these patients and is approved for urgency/frequency as well as urinary retention. The test procedure for this modality is performed in the office and is called PNE (percutaneous nerve stimulation).

Minimally Invasive Pelvic Floor Surgeries

Our doctors are specialists in the vaginal treatment of fallen bladders and genital prolapse using innovative treatments. They are recognized experts who train other physicians in this treatment. Surgical recovery is fast and pain is very limited with quick return to normal activities. These procedures are performed same day or over night stay.

Robotic Surgery

For complex hysterectomies and other gynecologic procedures, robot-assisted surgery with the da Vinvi Surgical System may be the most effective, least invasive treatment option. Dr. Balaloski performs minimally invasive robotic surgery including hysterectomy as well as infertility and pelvic reconstructive procedures through small 1-2cm incisions. Surgery which was performed through much larger incisions in the past. These patients usually are discharged the next day and resume their normal activities much sooner than traditional surgery.
